Note: Living in the house next to them is one: Alfred Daniels age 23 and wife Emeline, age 19 and daughter Rebecca, age 7 months. In the house next to Alfred is one Lewis Daniels age 22, wife Rainey age 20 and son Gilpen, age 2. In the house next to Alfred is one Beccie Daniels, age 54 and Margaret Daniels age 18, then in the house next to Beccie is one Albert Daniels age 21, Wife Fannie, age 19 and daughter Patsey, age 7 months. And in the next house lives a Thelbert & Nancy Dishman and son Boyden and there is a Louisa Eads age 12 also living in that house. Then in the very next house is: Ellis & Viney Davis and chldren. And finally the family of Amon Williams lives next door. If we look at the above information there are quite a lot of clues contained within it. Lets break it down:
- Alfred Daniels I suspect is Alfred McDaniels
- Lewis Daniels I suspect is Lewis McDaniels as his wifes name is listed to be Rainey which would mean this is the son in law and daughter of Gilpen & Patsey Eades.
- Beccie Daniels I suspect is Rebecca McDaniels mother of Rainey McDaniels Eades and her daughter Margaret. Allen & Rebecca McDaniels youngest daughters name was Margaret, she was born in 1853.
- Albert Daniels must be Albert McDaniels in keeping with what we have found above. Now, this Albert has a wife named Fannie. I assume Fannie to be the daughter of Gilpen and Patsey. Fannie Eades.
- Thelbert Dishman and wife Nancy. Nancy is the daughter of Gilpen and Patsey Eades, therefore Nancy Eades McDaniels.
- Ellis & Viney Davis (remember this couple was living with Gilpen and Patsey in the 1860 Census. I am not certain who this Viney is. Could it be short for Melvina? Perhaps Melvina Eades or Melvina McDaniels? It bears further research.
- Lastly there is a Williams family listed. I do know that the Williams married into the McDaniels family, but I do not remember just how at the moment. This bears more research.
I might make note Gilpen is listed on the 1840 Census for Iredell County tho little information is given, I have opted not to include it here for the time being.
At this point in time I have no clue who the above Albert & Alfred McDaniels are.
The notes below are for my own reference for further research as time permits:
