About my Research Notes

I have created this post to help explain the way that I have this blog set up so that you might understand the nature of some of my posts. To do this I am going to use a question and answer format for this particular post.

  1. What are Research Notes? Any of my posts that have the title "Research Notes" should be looked at as basically nothing more than notes I compile during the course of my research. Each one tends to build from the beginning to the end. Look at it in much the same way as if you were sitting in the room with me and you and I were talking as I search across the internet in the various databases. I may start a post off with little information and once I have found what I am looking for I will end the post with the conclusion of my findings. The conclusion will explain whether I believe I have found what I am looking for or not. If I have not, you may see additional posts entitled:" Name of Person-Research Notes_Part 2". Much like I have done for my Grandmother Amanda A. C McDaniel.
  2. What are Update Research Notes? Any post that reads: Update Research Notes or Progress Notes should be looked at as important updates concerning a certain family. In those types post I will typically update a file such as confirming what I have found thus far and letting the readers know what it is that I am still looking for.
  3. What are Biography's? A Biography post is a complete post letting you know everything that I currently know about said person. However, it should not and will never be all inclusive. I reserve the right to update a persons Bio post if I find more information that I feel needs to be added or taken from the post. It is my goal to eventually be able to post a lengthy Bio for each person in story format, so that it makes for an interesting yet informative read.
  4. Can I print out your Research Notes? Certainly! In fact I do encourage my readers to do just that! Print them out and then research the person for yourself. Never take someone elses word for anything you find online. Back it up with your own research. If you find any mistakes in what I have posted, please feel free to send me a message and I will do what I can to correct it. I will however, ask for proof before I will change anything that I have posted as it is my desire to post the facts and never hearsay.
