Blog Updates

This post is to inform you of some recent updates that I have made to the blog. As you can see with the new year has come many changes! I have redid the blogs background because I wanted a more feminine feel to it.
I have started looking for and adding some new and different content that I thought might appeal to my readers. You can find the newest content pages at the top of this blog.

I have started a series of posts called 52 Ancestors:52 Weeks where I post one ancestor per week for each of the 52 weeks of this year and tell a detailed story about his or her life. I like this idea because it helps me to delve deeper into my research and also allows me to tell something more about a person other than just the basic names and dates and other info that one usually finds on a family history blog. The second new thing that I have added is called the Days of the Week, for every day of the week I have chosen a writing prompt according to the day of the week, for instance on Sundays I have chosen Sentimental Sunday and on Saturday I have chosen Surname Saturday. You will find links to that on the page titled Days of the Weeks.

I have redid my grandsons page, formerly it was called Its a Boy! Where I announced the pregnancy and his birth. Since he had some ongoing health issues, I decided to keep my readers informed with sharing his story and telling about the importance of genetic testing for health reasons as well as ancestry. You can find his story on the tab titled Skylars Story.

I have updated my husbands DNA page by adding a chart for his grandparents back through the generations with links to their Find a Grave profile pages. I will be adding more content to that page throughout this week. I will also be updating my own DNA page with the addition of the names of my new JOHNSON family line that I discovered here recently.

I may add a few more things in the coming weeks as time permits. I have made too many posts between today and the very last time I posted an update to include links to each of them here. Ill do my best to post an update more often from here on out so that you can find a link to the newest post on the update page which you can find at the top of this blog.
