Barbara Ann was my first cousin. Barbara Ann was born 9 September, 1947 in Bakersfield, California. Her Biological parents were my Uncle T. A (Taylor Augustus) ESTERLINE and his first wife Louise REEDY. Barbara and her brother Tommy, were separated as youngsters when their parents parted ways. Uncle T.A felt he was not capable of raising a daughter by himself so he sent her to live with his sister Laura and her husband George. Aunt Laura & Uncle George adopted Barbara and raised her as their own daughter.
On 7 January, 1966 in Kern California she married for the first time to Alfred Wayne EUBANKS. To this marriage were two children born, a son and a daughter.
Barbara married for the second time to one Douglas BRONDELL and to this union were three daughters born.
Her second marriage ended in divorce and Barbara married for the third time to Larry HILL. To this union was one daughter born.
Barbara`s two oldest children spent most of the time with their Mammaw and Papaw (Aunt Laura & Uncle George). Being the youngest in my family all my cousins were much older than I so as I have stated in previous posts I grew up with these cousins children, my first cousins, once removed.
I remember playing Cowboys and Indians on more than one occasion with my cousin Chuck, Barbara`s son. We made a lot of good memories together as kids.
Her oldest daughter and I used to be somewhat close, until we both grew older and started families of our own. Barbara`s second husband and father to her middle children worked with the Carnival so he was away from home quite a lot. Barbra and the girls lived in Dudley, Stoddard, Missouri. I remember riding the school bus home with her oldest daughter and spending a few days at their house.
I remember one time in particular it was close to Easter and we were visiting at my Aunt Laura`s house and Barbara had made Easter Baskets for her children, I believe her youngest daughter was a baby at the time. I enjoyed watching them dig through their baskets and seeing the joy on their faces.
Barbara was a Diabetic, which seems to run in that side of our family. She had a lot of health issues as well. She passed away on 29 December, 2013 in Selmer, McNairy, Tennessee. Barbara`s remains were cremated and I am not certain whether her children chose to bury or her remains or not.
