This post is part of the Surname Saturday Series.
Today`s Surname Saturday post is about the surname EADS. This is my birth surname and thus the reason this blog was born.
There are many variations of the EADS surname, some of which I have found are: Eades, Edds, Eadie, meaning abundant riches.
The origion of the EADS Surname is of the Anglo-Saxon culture of Britian.
Some of the Eads family migrated on into Ireland.
Two notable persons with the surname Eads are:
James Buchanan Eads (1820-1887) American Structural Engineer, he built the Eads Bridge in Saint Louis, Missouri.
George Coleman Eads (born in 1967) American Actor who appeared on the Television show CSI as Nick Stokes.
The couple in the photo above are my 2nd Great Grandparents: William Franklin Eads Sr & wife Amanda America Clementine Eads nee McDaniel. They came to Wayne County, Missouri from Iredell County, North Carolina in the late 1800`s
