I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween? It rained all day here. It is hard to believe that the Holidays are around the corner, is it not? They are fast approaching. I have been working on my scrapbook some more this week. I have a few projects that I am getting ready to launch and as I do I will share the details here as they involve preserving my family history for future generations.
I am excited to tell you that a couple days ago my husband got a very close match on his 23andme DNA relative finder. It is a female, predicted to be a second cousin but she is anonymous. He has sent her a message and we are waiting on pins and needles and hoping that she chooses to reply. We are also hoping that through her we can figure out some things we need to know, provided she is from one of the lines he knows little about. The prediction states the following about her:
2nd Cousin
3.55% shared, 11 segments
This match is much closer than my closest match who matches me at just a little over 2 .43% DNA across 8 segments and she is my 2nd cousin, once removed! I am so excited for him, I just am hoping like heck she responds favorably. Given the fact she is anonymous she may only be there for health issues and nothing more. We are keeping our fingers crossed and as we know more we will update here.
Our grandson Skylar had to undergo another procedure last week. This time he had a Cardiac Catheritization. He has two blood clots in his jugular veins that have calcified and the doctors were not able to remove them. They state that he has some smaller capillary veins that have taken over the job and doing the work for them. They gave him some medicine to try and bust them up but am not sure at this point if it is going to work. He also had a reaction to the antibiotics they have been given him and is retaining fluid. We appreciate any prayers and positive thoughts we can get for him right now.
That is about all the news I have to share today. Stay tuned for more Family History information as soon as time permits!
