Scrapping Your Family Tree

I recently started learning the art of Digital Scrapbooking. It was something that I had always wanted to try but never had taken the time to learn. I had used the Smilebox Program in the past, but I wanted to be able to do something more. So I did my homework and started making a few layouts. I love Digital Scrapbooking verses the alternative of using paper and glue or tape. It is a lot less messy and that is a plus for me. I wanted to share a couple of my Layouts here. I will probably share more in the future.

The first one is a layout I made of my Mother`s older sister, my Aunt Gertie.
Aunt Gertie was given a long name and I wanted to try and break it down so that her descendants could see where the names actually came from. Families often used various naming patterns according to their ethinicity. My Grandfather ESTERLINE was of German Descent. In that tradition 1st daughters are usually named after their Mothers Mother. As we can see Aunt Gerties second name was Rachel which was the name of her Mother`s Mother. Rachael ACORD. Mary Ann was her father`s Mother, Mary Ann FARMER, it was common custom for the second daughter in a family to be named after the Fathers Mother, in this case my Grandmother decided to keep the custom with her 1st daughter and finally the Mothers` Mother`s Mother is set aside for the 7th Child, but Grandmother gave that name as well to Aunt Gertie, in that she named her Elizabeth after Grandmother`s Maternal Grandmother Elizabeth WRIGHT-ACORD.
This next layout is one of Aunt Gertie and the father of her four children Alfred T. NALLEY. Aunt Gertie was married a total of seven times! I can account for 5 of her husbands.
