John Jack EADS

This post is about my 2nd Great Grand Uncle known as John Jack EADS. He was the son of John EADS Sr and Mary Polly MASSEY, my 3rd Great Grandparents.

To the best of my knowledge John was born about 1829 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He first married Louisa Jane LACKEY. I am just beginning to research this line so at present there are quite a few holes within this particular part of my tree. I am going to add them to my research project page. It appears that after Aunt Louisa died, Uncle Jack married for a second time. This time he married a woman that is surrounded by mystery to me. He name was Mary Manley COLLINS. I suspect the middle name of MANLEY will more than likely turn out to be a birth surname. But we shall see. Her first husband was Squire Henderson COLLINS, upon his death and several children later she married my Uncle Jack EADS and they had some children together.

If anyone is researching this line I would love to hear from you, perhaps you can help me to fill in some holes in this section of my tree.

Just from what little research that I have done it appears that Mary may have had some Melungeon roots. I know that is quite a mouthful. I have some interesting information that I plan on sharing in a future post about the Melungeon people. So be sure and stay tuned!
