Sarah Jane Eads Dishman


Jane Eads was the daughter of Ezekiel Eads and Mary Polly Barrot/Barret Eads.  She was born in the Mountains in Iredell County, in the area of New Hope,North Carolina about 1821.

Jane married one Silas Dishman. Silas is said to be the son of one James and Elizabeth Dishman of Virginia and Iredell County, North Carolina. Silas`s grandmother was Kizzah Dishman.  Sarah Jane and Silas had eight children together that I can account for:

  • Albert Washington Dishman (m. Susan Gerkin)
  • Amanda P Dishman
  • Sarah J Dishman
  • Adaline Dishman
  • Adolphus M Dishman
  • Louisa Dishman
  • William Burris Dishman (M. Hettie Welborne, dau. of June Shoemaker)

Silas J. Dishman served as a Private in the Civil War on the Confederate side. He was assigned to the 54th Regiment, North Carolina, Infantry.
